Classic German made Erica. These are great instruments. Light to play, characterful, noisy and a great deal of fun. Perfect for folk club sessions with lots of guitars.

Hohner Club IV restored
Some shots of a Hohner Club IV, three voice (MMM) 30 key instrument. The keyboard was in a bit of a state (see before and after pictures) but the rest of it was OK, though it needed complete overhaul. A thirty key, three voice instrument has a *lot* of reeds. I also declubbed this box for its owner.

1920s Melodeon restoration
A few photos of a 1920s two row German melodeon. The bass side needed some new buttons and the reeds were overhauled and tuned.

Hohner Melodeon A/D (or C#/D)
(SOLD)This is a Hohner Vienna style two row, two voice melodeon in the keys of A/D (or alternate tuning, C#/D), made in Germany, with celluloid finish. It has been restored to a nice playable condition. This is like a Pokerwork but with a different finish. It has a wooden keyboard (unlike modern Hohner Pokerwork and Erica melodeons.
A/D tuned boxes are ideal for an alternate set up with a C# row in place of the A row. With the C# row fitted the box can be played in D and G on the D row. The C natural for the G scale is on the C# row. But the semitone layout (C#/D) provides for the flexibility to play in other keys, but without too much work to convert to this system if you are a regular DG box player.

Hohner Liliput, CF (sold)
Hohner Liliput in CF, now gone to a new owner. Two voice, 2.4 row. Was restored, de-clubbed and tuned to concert pitch. Pallets re-faced, reeds cleaned, revalved, rewaxed. Continue reading “Hohner Liliput, CF (sold)”
