Hohner Corona II in A/D/G

Hohner Corona II in A/D/G.  A three row instrument, with 31 treble keys and 12 basses. Tuned to give a light tremolo and to blend with the basses. The standard Hohner tuning is often brash and sounds sharp in relation to the basses. This instrument now has a sweeter sound than the standard tuning style.

The outside row of buttons in key of A give some useful note reversals not found on a DG melodeon. Specifically push E and pull D. If you happen to play across the G and D rows then familiar key patterns are also available across the D/A rows, without requiring hours of practice to learn new patterns.

Hohner HA114C Cajun accordion/melodeon

Hohner HA114C Cajun accordion/melodeon. One row, four voice melodeon in the key of C.

This accordion appeared to be brand new, in mint condition. It was made in Germany and had the characteristic red and gold bellows tape of instruments made in Germany.

This is a rare example of a mint condition German made 114C.

Hohner Student II piano accordion

The Hohner Student II piano accordion is a classic small accordion, perfect for folk sessions where you need to play in a range of keys not easily available on a melodeon. (Here is another one..) This instrument has a wonderfully bright sound, with German made reeds. To make it super versatile it has thirdless bass chords (so the C chord sounds a C and G, which is a perfect 5th – the E does not sound). This enables the player to accompany tunes in major and minor keys, with a nice folky ‘drone’ effect. It has 12 basses (Bb,F,C,G,D,A). It has a medium to wet tremolo.
