Hohner Carena IIIM 41/120 … (demo video)

A decent mid range Hohner Carena IIIM piano accordion, full size, with the lovely Hohner sound. I refurbished the bass end (clean up, revalve, rewax, tune) after which it sounded marvellous, with a deep honking bass when all five reed sets were called into service. On the right hand it is a three voice instrument (LMM), with five registers to mix and match the sound. I sorted out the various issues with loose valves and reeds and tuned up.  The buyer wanted me to service their eBay acquired PA but when I showed them this instrument they changed their minds. That is the problem with buying accordions from eBay. You are never quite sure what you going to get unless it is supplied by an instrument vendor or repairer.

And here is a video of the restored PA:

Hohner Student PA 24 bass (restored..)

Hohner Student PASmall piano accordions really should not be overlooked, especially if you want to play in folk sessions and want to carry the thing around. The Hohner Student III has 24 bass and 25 keys. I had two of these little instruments and completed a complete rebuild of one of them. This entailed dismantling the keyboard, replacing the messed up finish on the keyboard, re-facing all the pallets, then overhauling the reeds (clean, revalve, tune etc), sorting out the LH mechanism, fixing the bellows and so on.

Soprani PA 34key/36bass (sold)

Soprani PA 34/36(sold..sorry) This falls into the category of a light piano accordion, with 34 keys and 36 basses (all 12 notes in the scale), and major and minor chords.  I love the look of it too. The body is in good condition, as are the bellows, which is why I want to get it back to working condition. The reeds need completely removing, cleaning, re-valving and no doubt tuning.
